Beach Mill Coffee Bar Accessibility Information

At The Beach Mill Coffee Bar, we are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all guests, including those with accessibility needs.

Beach accessibility events take place right on the beachfront at The Beach Mill Coffee Bar, creating an inclusive space where people of all abilities can enjoy the ocean. These community-led events feature accessible beach matting, beach wheelchairs and guided support for safe water access, making the coastline enjoyable for wheelchair users, people with limited mobility and those with sensory sensitivities. The proximity to the coffee bar allows guests and carers to easily access refreshments, shaded seating and accessible facilities while taking part in a relaxed and welcoming beach experience.

The coffee bar is conveniently located 250 metres from the 608 bus stop, making it easily accessible via public transport from Bundaberg. For those self-driving, on-site parking is provided, including accessible parking spaces close to the coffee bar’s main entrance. Alternatively, taxis and rideshare are readily available.

The Beach Mill is a step-free, level-entry venue with wide pathways, making it accessible for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. The outside area is clipped lawn, with a few tables under a shade cloth. While most areas are relatively flat, the natural grass sections may be slightly uneven, so we recommend that visitors using a cane, walker or other mobility aids take extra care when navigating these areas. Staff are happy to assist if needed.

An accessible restroom is available in the nearby beachfront park, approximately 50 metres from The Beach Mill Coffee Bar. The facility includes a wide, step-free entrance, grab rails and enough circulation space for most wheelchair users. It is a public amenity maintained by the Bundaberg Regional Council and is located adjacent to a sealed pathway that connects directly to the cafe area. Signage is visible from the cafe, and staff can provide directions if needed.

Open from 6 AM to noon Monday to Friday and 6 AM to 1 PM Saturday and Sunday, the coffee bar benefits from abundant natural light, ensuring good visibility for sighted patrons. Being dog-friendly, service dogs and assistance animals will fit right in, with plenty of grassy spaces nearby and an off-leash dog park also within walking distance.

The outdoor setting is a peaceful and calming environment, ideal for guests with sensory sensitivities. Outdoor seating is a mix of regular-height tables and chairs, most of which are moveable to accommodate different needs, including those of wheelchair users.

Staff members have received accessibility training to better assist guests with diverse needs, and are happy to assist guests who can’t read the menu or need other assistance.
