So be sure to fly by and say hi to our terrific team, who’ll help you launch your next adventure in Brisbane and beyond!
Brisbane Airport and Volunteer Airport Ambassadors
It can be tricky to know where to start when you arrive at the airport on the first stop of an adventure. Your senses will notice everything from the constant flurry of people wielding luggage, to the hectic hubbub of conversation, continuous overhead announcements and the beeping of luggage carousels and assistance carts. It’s sometimes frantic, sometimes stressful, but always exciting, because it means you’re either about to board a flight for an unforgettable adventure, or you’ve just arrived in Brisbane to begin one!
Brisbane Airport operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It comprises two terminals, operating 23 airlines to 74 destinations. Brisbane is the third largest airport in Australia by passenger numbers, and has consistently been voted by passengers as the best airport in Australia/Pacific at the Skytrax World Airport Awards. In 2022, Brisbane Airport saw 14.6 million passengers transiting through its terminals!
For those with early departures or eager for a quick transition from luggage carousel to hotel check-in, Brisbane Airport offers a suite of award-winning, airport accommodation options within easy reach. The 5-star Pullman Brisbane Airport hotel has repeatedly been awarded the prestigious Skytrax Best Airport Hotel in Australia/Pacific, and is just a leisurely 5-minute stroll from the Domestic Terminal. The Novotel Brisbane Airport is another award-winning option, located in Skygate, just a few minutes’ drive or bus ride from the terminal. For affordable and convenient accommodation within easy walking distance of the Domestic Terminal, Ibis Brisbane Airport offers standard hotel rooms that tick all the boxes.

Your Gateway to Brisbane and Beyond
Brisbane Airport is your sky-high gateway to exploring the delightful destinations of Brisbane and beyond.
Brisbane is the vibrant capital city of Queensland, situated in the southeast corner of the state. This region is a popular tourist destination, with a myriad of things to see and do, and an atmosphere that’s as warm and inviting as its sun-drenched days. It’s the kind of place where adventures begin, holiday memories are made, and business deals are delivered amidst a backdrop of stunning surrounds and welcoming, feel-at-home hospitality.
Meander the parklands, shopping precincts, cafes and laneways of the city’s cosmopolitan CBD, perched on the picturesque banks of the mighty Brisbane River. Or explore a little further afield to discover hidden gems, including relaxed coastal villages, a beautiful bay of islands, and a historic hinterland cloaked in tranquil National Parks, fertile farmlands and quaint country towns.
Just 20 minutes from the Brisbane Airport, board a ferry to the pristine shores of Moreton Island, where you can swim with dolphins, snorkel the Tangalooma Wrecks, and spot whales from the beach during their winter migration.
This modern, sub-tropical city is flanked by some of Australia’s most captivating coastline, including the dreamy beaches and world-class waves of the Gold and Sunshine Coasts – all within easy reach of the Brisbane Airport. The range of experiences on offer here is almost as endless as the soft grains of warm, white sand that hug the Pacific Ocean. Visit thrilling theme parks, enjoy world-class entertainment and events, delight in a smorgasbord of new flavours or shop till you drop. Or embrace a more relaxed pace as you wander a winding trail through ancient rainforests, cuddle a koala, or indulge in life’s little luxuries at a host of decadent day spas and luxurious lodgings.
From fast-paced fun to relaxed rejuvenation, Brisbane and beyond offers it all.
Some Multi-Sensory ‘Must Do’ Experiences
While you’re here, why not immerse your senses in all that’s on offer. Here’s a few suggestions on where to begin.
Get a feel for the city with a peaceful ride along the Brisbane River aboard one of the regular Council-run CityCat ferry services that operate along the winding waterway. Feel the gentle breeze on your face, and soak in the sunny ambience of the CBD, as you cross beneath the iconic Story Bridge, which forms a stunning centrepiece to the city. The brave at heart may also opt to scale its heady heights, for a thrilling perspective of the city from above.
Drop by the Queensland Museum to discover fascinating insights into our natural and cultural heritage. With a range of engaging exhibits, there’s something here for everyone. Children aged 6 to 13 can ignite their imagination as they become scientists for the day in the SparkLab, investigating a mind-blowing line-up of interactive exhibits exploring science, technology, engineering and maths.
Southbank is another top recreational and cultural highlight, complete with playground, lagoon pool and weekly markets offering relaxed retail therapy.
Or escape the hustle and bustle and retreat to one of Brisbane’s bountiful green spaces. The Downfall Creek Bushland Centre in Chermside West features an excellent Mountains to Mangroves Senses Trail, complete with wheelchair access, continuous handrails, and interpretive signage including braille and raised text. Brisbane Botanic Gardens and Roma Street Parklands also offer free guided tours daily.
Once you’ve worked up an appetite, it’s time to discover the wining and dining scene – Brisbane style.
