Learn to Surf Experience
Your private group learn-to-surf lesson begins as you arrive at the beach and assemble at the Surf Academy trailer. Here you’ll be kitted out with wetsuits and surfboards. Once you’ve got your gear, your group will assemble on the sandy shore for a safety briefing and demonstration of basic surf skills. Instructions will be described verbally by qualified instructors who have experience teaching clients with no or low vision, so you can rest assured you’re in good hands! If necessary, physical guidance will be provided to help you nail the necessary techniques before you hit the waves.
Once you’ve got the basics sorted, it’s time to head out into the waves to put your new skills to the test. Instructors will provide verbal guidance in the water and will remain close by to assist as needed. You’ll have plenty of time to try your luck catching a wave, with freedom to progress at your own pace.
Paddle out through the whitewash and feel the salty kisses of the water splashing your face. Sense the anticipation and excitement build as your heart races and you wait for the perfect wave. Then spring to your feet and feel the rise and pull of the ocean beneath your board, as it lifts and propels you, like a magic carpet, towards the sandy beach. There’s nothing quite like the thrill of surfing to get your heart pumping! As a truly multi-sensory experience, this learn to surf lesson is sure to create lasting memories.
