We’ll go behind the scenes to meet the master brewers, hear their fascinating stories and gain new insights into the beer brewing process. So ‘hop’ onboard and get set for a fun-filled day of taste-testing, intrigue and enlightenment – plus no doubt a few laughs along the way.
Along with expert audio commentary delivered live by your local guide and exclusive guided behind-the-scenes brewery tours, your day also includes a delicious and satisfying lunch with vegan and vegetarian options available; a tasting paddle of beer (or equivalent) at three venues; and a beer of choice at your final destination. Not a big beer fan? Never fear. Wine, cider and ginger beer options are also available.
The popular Coastal Hop Brewery Tour itinerary is offered as a shared tour on Wednesdays to Sundays, lasting approximately five to six hours. It’s also available as a private itinerary for groups seven days per week. All participants must be 18 years of age or older. Shared tours depart from your designated pick-up point between approximately 10:45 to 11:15am, returning between approximately 4:15 to 4:30pm depending on your location. Please note that venues visited and exact itinerary may alter from time to time, due to circumstances beyond our control.
To kick the morning off, we’ll collect you from your accommodation (for private tours) or designated collection point (for shared tours) in our comfortable, air-conditioned minivan. Our friendly and professional tour guide will welcome you aboard, providing you with an audio overview of what to expect on your day’s adventure.
Moffat Beach Brewing Co
Once everyone’s onboard and comfortably settled in, we’ll head south to our first stop – Moffat Beach Brewing Co. This highly acclaimed production venue is one of Australia’s most awarded breweries, and a true hidden gem of the dynamic coastal brewing scene.
Moffat Brewing Co’s Production House delivers an authentic brewpub experience, complete with a fully operational brewery onsite, and a taproom featuring a rotating selection of twenty local favourites and limited releases. The taproom is open and spacious, with high ceilings, a bar, mixed seating options around wooden tables and the brewery itself as a backdrop. From the seating area you can see four large aluminium vessels used in the brewing process. Guests will be led to a reserved table and are given an introduction and welcome to the brewery before sampling four beers. The tastings will usually include a lager, pale ale, India pale ale and a stout, but can change with seasonal offerings on tap. By providing a broad range of styles you are afforded the opportunity to sample a variety of flavours, as the tour guide explains the ingredients used to make beer, and how they differ between beer styles.
You will then be taken on a tour to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the brewery’s operations, to learn more about the craft brewing process. This includes a discussion about the brewery components we can see from the seating area, followed by a short walk around the side of the brewery which reveals another row of stainless tanks which are used for fermentation. We’ll spend approximately one hour here, basking the glory of one of the coast’s best kept brewery secrets.
Your Mates Brewing – Warana
We’ll then make our way north to Your Mates Brewing in Warana, where we’ll enjoy a hearty lunch and of course, a sampling of their finest beers.
This authentically Aussie brewpub is one of the finest watering holes on the Sunshine Coast. With its unpretentious and lively atmosphere, it’s the kind of place that makes you feel instantly at home. The interior of the brewpub has a rustic, industrial feel, with brick walls and a polished concrete floor. The main bar featured rough, exposed brickwork on the base and a smooth dark wooden top. The walls are adorned with an eclectic mix of photos and memorabilia, and the exposed timber beams of the high ceiling are strung with lights, adding to the inviting and social atmosphere.
On arrival we will have a short walk from the car park into the venue. This is usually a popular spot and can be slightly noisy when you first enter. Guests are guided to a reserved table where your lunch order is taken. Lunch is typically a choice of burgers served with fries, with vegetarian and vegan options available on request. Guests are provided with a tasting paddle of four beers which are served individually. This allows the tour guide to talk about the beer styles and reveal the hidden stories behind the brewery and the local legends who dreamed it into existence.
We will spend up to an hour and a half lingering over our lunch here, enjoying a social chat with mates and soaking in the fresh flavours of their celebrated local brews.
10 Toes Brewery – Buderim Production Brewery
With satisfied appetites and some good times had by all, we then make tracks for 10 Toes Brewery in Buderim. This production brewery is the second and much larger venue for this local craft brewing business.
Parking is provided close to the entrance and the group will enter and sit at a reserved table. Interestingly, this building was a former IGA grocery store, and features exposed concrete walls and floors, with the large brewery as a backdrop. It feels somewhere between a brewpub, production brewery and local’s hangout. Once comfortably seated, you will be given a tasting paddle of beers consisting of pale ales, India pale ales, sours and other small batch and seasonal beers that are available. The tour guide will talk through these beer styles and the breweries history, giving you an insight into how the brand came about.
The 10 Toes team proudly tout themselves as ‘the good vibe beer tribe’ – self-proclaimed ratbags with good hearts making great beers. These guys punch out a solid core range including their flagship pale ale Pipeline, as well as tasty IPA’s and a Vanilla Porter that must be tried!
We’ll spend about an hour here, soaking in the relaxed atmosphere and sampling beers the capture the very essence of laid-back coastal living.
Sunshine Brewery – Kuluin
Our final stop on the Coastal Hop Brewery Tour is just down the road at Sunshine Brewery in Kuluin. This award-winning microbrewery first opened its doors to the public in 2017, and since then, has produced over 100 different new brews and accumulated 20-odd medals in the process. This smaller but warmly welcoming venue has lots of lovable character, with walls covered in vintage memorabilia, including beer cans and beer-related historical items of interest.
You will be seated at a reserved table, and invited to choose your own beer, with the help of your tour guide. The staff are super friendly and often assist by letting guests taste a few beers before ordering a glass. Maybe it’s time for some ‘Hop Therapy’? This award-winning Pale India Ale offers distinct passionfruit and grapefruit aromas, with a rich flavour. Or perhaps a Noosa Ruby Sunset Ale or European-style lager is more to your liking? If you’re after a sweet treat to round out your day, their Red Velvet Porter is a crowd-pleaser. With hints of raspberry and dark chocolate and a creamy mouthfeel, it’s been affectionately referred to as ‘’cake in a glass’.
You’ll have about three-quarters of an hour here to enjoy an ice-cold brew of your choosing, before we board the bus one last time for the final journey home, reminiscing along the way about the great beer and good times we’ve shared together.

We are proud to participate in the Companion Card program, offering a 50% discount for carers assisting registered Companion Card holders.
Registered service animals are welcome on this tour. Handlers should note that breweries are dog-friendly and have outside grass areas or curb-side grass suitable for their animal’s toileting needs. Expert audio commentary throughout the tour promotes an inclusive experience for all guests, including blind and low vision patrons.
Given sufficient notice, we can arrange to sit in quieter areas within the venues we visit, if this is helpful for guests who are hard of hearing or have sensory sensitivities.
If you have allergies or special dietary requirements, we ask that you provide us notice of these at the time of booking so we can make every effort to accommodate your request. However, we are unable to offer a guarantee on behalf of the various venues we visit. We will inform you in advance if a specific dietary request cannot be catered for.
