At Daintree Siesta, we believe the rainforest should be experienced by everyone. Located at the heart of one of the world’s most awe-inspiring natural environments, our eco-friendly retreat is committed to offering an inclusive and welcoming experience for guests with a wide range of accessibility needs.

Whether you’re seeking physical ease of access, sensory immersion or a space that feels calm and safe, we aim to ensure your time in the Daintree is both comfortable and enriching. The rainforest itself offers a rich sensory experience that can be especially meaningful for guests who have low or no vision or who are neurodiverse. From the sounds of birds, insects and frogs to the scent of ancient trees and the feel of moss-covered trees and paths, the Daintree is an experience best enjoyed slowly and mindfully – and we’re here to help facilitate that for every guest.

Our accessible motel room is located on ground level and has been thoughtfully designed to support guests with reduced mobility. It features a queen bed, an accessible step-free shower and a private, covered outdoor seating area where you can relax and enjoy the tranquil rainforest backdrop. The room is situated in a duplex layout, ideal for carers or family members staying nearby. Conveniently located near reception, the restaurant and our soon-to-open float pool, this room offers both ease and comfort. 

For pets, including assistance dogs, please call to discuss with Bruno or Tamara, as there are Daintree Rainforest location-specific considerations we like to discuss first. Pet-friendly accommodation can be made available on request, subject to the pet policy, which is included in our terms and conditions on the website.

Parking is available directly outside your door, ensuring stress-free access during your stay. Our on-site licensed restaurant, set amongst tropical gardens, is also easily accessible – and we’re happy to cater to a range of dietary requirements with advance notice.

For those who prefer a more rustic experience, our spacious rainforest campground offers a peaceful and flexible option. While we do not currently have purpose-built accessible facilities in the campground, we have received positive feedback from past guests in wheelchairs and with assistance dogs who found our grounds suitable for their needs. The campground’s wide layout, natural surfaces and peaceful setting (especially outside peak seasons) create a soothing environment for guests with neurodiverse needs or sensory sensitivities.
