Garden Mill Cafe Accessibility Information

At The Garden Mill Cafe, inclusivity is at the heart of the experience. Whether you’re arriving via public transport, using a wheelchair or require a quiet space, The Garden Mill Cafe is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all visitors.

Getting to the cafe requires planning; the best way to visit the cafe is by car, as the closest bus stop is some distance away. Rideshare and taxi services are readily available. For those driving, on-site parking is available at both the front and rear of the property, with step-free access to the cafe from both car parks, but there is no designated accessible parking space.

Although the cafe is set in an outdoor garden environment with gazebos, it features level entryways, wide doorways and spacious, step-free pathways, making it easy to navigate for wheelchair users. The seating area is undercover and on a level, paved surface. It has regular height tables and chairs with armrests and the furniture is moveable to accommodate wheelchair users. An accessible bathroom is available within the cafe with a baby change table that can be removed to increase transfer space.

A large-print menu is available and can also be viewed or downloaded from The Garden Mill Cafe website. Visitors can order at the service counter or orders can be taken from the table. Food is brought to the table.

Qualified service dogs are warmly welcomed at the cafe with a dog water station available. The extensive garden area offers plenty of grassy spaces suitable for service dog toileting. The cafe is well lit with abundant natural lighting, ensuring a comfortable dining experience.

For visitors with sensory sensitivities, the outdoor garden seating provides a calm and quiet retreat, very different from the usual hustle and bustle of a cafe environment.

At The Garden Mill Cafe, we are committed to ensuring an inclusive and welcoming experience for all guests. The friendly staff have received accessibility training and are always available to provide any additional support needed. If you have any specific accessibility needs, you are encouraged to reach out before your visit and they will be happy to assist.
