The Grampians - Aged to Perfection!

With an elevation of 240-440 metres above sea level, and cool climate growing conditions (by Australian standards), the Grampians region is renowned for producing a fine selection of vintage and emerging wines. Vineyards were first established in the area in 1862, and century-old cellars still testify to the rich wine-making heritage of the region. The Grampians vineyards produce some excellent sparkling varieties as well as distinctive Riesling bursting with citrus, and age-worthy Cab Savs with notes of blackcurrant. But this region is best known for its production of powerful yet silky shiraz, with its rich purple colour and hints of red cherry, plum or pepper to warm the palate.

Grampians Wine Tours equips you with the skills and knowledge to swirl, sniff and slurp your way through the region’s finest vineyards. Visit some of the region’s standout cellars such as Pomonal Estate’s winery, microbrewery and cider house, the Legendary Best’s Wines to sample some of Australia’s oldest varieties, and the boutique offerings of Grampians Estate, to name a few.
