History of Kimbolton Wines
Kimbolton Wines has a rich history that adds depth to your visit. It all began in 1911 when Frank Potts II (Great Grandfather to owners Nicole Clark & Brad Case) purchased the original vineyard, now known as Kimbolton, on the Langhorne Creek floodplain. Today, that humble five-hectare vineyard has grown to 61 hectares, featuring traditional varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, as well as championing Italian alternate varieties such as Malbec, Carignan, Fiano, and Montepulciano. These grape varieties flourish in the fertile soils of one of Australia’s oldest wine regions.
Their premium range of wines pay tribute to the Riflemen of the family, who represented South Australia and Australia in target shooting events. The dedication and passion of Nicole and Brad, the sibling duo behind Kimbolton Wines, shine through in every bottle produced.
As you explore the cellar door, you'll find intriguing glimpses into the past. Photographs tell the story of five generations of vignerons, showcasing the evolution of Kimbolton Wines and its place in the fabric of Langhorne Creek's winemaking heritage. It's a journey through time that allows you to appreciate the deep-rooted traditions and craftsmanship that go into every bottle.
Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply curious about the origins of the wines you're about to taste, the history of Kimbolton Wines adds a layer of richness and significance to your experience. It's a reminder that behind every bottle lies a tale of passion, dedication, and a commitment to preserving the legacy of the land.

Grapes for Good
Animal lovers will also delight in the knowledge that each drop they drink of the Kimbolton Fiano and Cabernet Sauvignon is making a difference.
In 2021, Kimbolton Wines released what is now known as ‘The Cheetah wine’, a 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon raising funds for vital cheetah conservation. For each bottle sold Kimbolton Wines donates part of the proceeds towards saving cheetah in their natural habitat.
Continuing on from the collaboration with Monarto Safari Park and Zoos SA, Kimbolton pioneered the Grapes for Good initiative partnering with 5 other Langhorne Creek wineries to create a unique 6 pack of wines and tasting trail to further support conservation efforts with part proceeds from the sale of these wines supporting Zoos SA’s conservation mission.
