Accessibility Information

Kuranda Scenic Railway is operated by Queensland Rail, a government body that is committed to providing rail services that are accessible to all customers. Please let them know if you or someone you are travelling with requires additional assistance when booking. When booking, please also advise if you are travelling with an approved guide dog or assistance animal so that suitable seating can be arranged. On the day of travel, please make yourself known to the team at the Station to flag your arrival and discuss your support needs. Train staff have received disability awareness training and are willing and able to assist customers with no or low vision.

This includes guiding customers to carriage entrances, guiding to or from their allocated seat, accessible space or toilet facility entrances. Please note that due to the heritage nature of this experience, the ease of access to stations and carriages may vary. For example, Barron Falls Station is only accessible via steps. Passengers who are unable to navigate steps will need to remain onboard during this 10-minute stop.

Kuranda Scenic Rail also accepts Companion Cards, allowing free of charge travel for carers accompanying people with disabilities who require assistance.
