Moreton Bay Food and Wine Festival Accessibility Information

The festival takes place at Apex Park, Woody Point, in the Moreton Bay region which is a 40-minute drive from Brisbane City. Street parking is limited, but free parking is available at Pelican Park, Clontarf, with a free, wheelchair-accessible shuttle bus operating from 9:30 AM each day of the festival.

If travelling by public transport from Brisbane, the journey takes up to one hour and 20 minutes. Take the Redcliffe Peninsula Line train from Roma Street train station to Kippa-Ring station, then bus number 696 to Hornibrook Esplanade at Bramble Bay Bowls Club, which drops you about 160 metres from the park. Alternatively, take the Cleveland line from Central station to Sandgate station, then bus number 691 to Hornibrook Esplanade at Bramble Bay Bowls Club. For more details visit translink.com.au. Self-driving with either a rental car or your own vehicle is an ideal way to visit the Moreton Bay region and visit the Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival.

Accessible Toilets

There are six toilet banks, each including an accessible toilet. These are evenly distributed throughout the event site to ensure guests are never far from an accessible amenity.

Wheelchair and Mobility Accessibility

The entire site is designed to be wheelchair accessible, with:

  • flat, paved walkways

  • accessible entry gates

  • mobility-aid friendly shuttle buses

  • plenty of varied seating options throughout

  • back-of-house buggies available for additional support if needed

While the Oasis Club area includes some minor inclines, they are considered manageable for most mobility aids.

Support for People with Vision Impairments

The festival takes place in a waterfront park with natural topography, so there may be some uneven ground. However, a flat cement path runs the full length of the site, and we take care to minimise trip hazards wherever possible. We recommend guests with low vision use the main pathways for ease of navigation.

We’ve implemented a number of accommodations to support guests who are blind or living with low vision:

  • QR codes are displayed across the site for guests to access event information on their personal devices.

  • Large print signage is used throughout the precinct for easier visibility.

  • Screens are positioned at all stage demonstrations to provide enlarged visual content.

  • All live demonstrations include MC voiceover and running commentary, offering real-time auditory descriptions of what’s happening on stage.

Service Animals

Registered assistance animals are warmly welcomed at the festival. While there are no formal animal relief zones, toileting can be managed discreetly onsite, and taps are available throughout the precinct to fill water bowls.

Quiet Spaces & Sensory Accommodations

The festival layout has been designed to include naturally quieter zones that offer a calm environment away from busier, louder areas for anyone needing a break from the hustle and bustle of the festival. We’ve also created scent-free areas for guests with sensory sensitivities.

The festival maps highlight “high sensory” zones, allowing guests to prepare for changes in volume or activity. Staff and volunteers are trained to support both visible and hidden disabilities, including those with sensory needs.

Easy Read & Inclusive Materials

Our printed and digital materials are designed with clear structure and readability in mind. We aim to provide:

  • an at-a-glance overview of essential information

  • deeper content for those who wish to explore more

This layered approach makes our materials helpful for guests with intellectual disabilities and those who benefit from simplified presentation.

Dietary Restrictions

Dietary requests can be accommodated for some ticketed experiences; however, you must specify your dietary requirements when purchasing your tickets.

Companion Card

Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival is proud to be affiliated with the Companion Card program. Companion Card holders should email help@lup.com.au to request a free ticket, and bring their card with them on the day for proof of entry.

First Aid & Emergency Support

We have first-aid personnel and a paramedic team onsite at all times, ready to assist with any medical or wellbeing needs.

If you have particular accessibility requirements, please specify your needs when purchasing your tickets so we can make the necessary arrangements for you.
