  • Welcome to Skate Paradise

Have you ever longed to feel the exhilarating joy of roller-skating? A realm of skating fun and freedom awaits for people of all ages and abilities at Skate Paradise, in the southern Brisbane suburb of Hillcrest, Logan.

Skate Paradise offers empowering learn to skate sessions, general public skate sessions and accessible sensory skate programs on Australia’s only Olympic-sized rink. With exceptional facilities and an attitude of inclusion for all, it’s your one-stop shop to learn and experience the invigorating thrill of roller-skating. Skate hire can be purchased with your admission, and a rock and roll themed diner further enhances the groovy, retro vibe. There’s even an onsite skate shop, where you may wish to purchase your own set of skates.

General public skating sessions offer everyone from absolute beginners to experienced skate stars the opportunity to let loose and show off their skating skills on the huge, oval-shaped rink. Conducted primarily on weekends and during Queensland school holidays, these energetic skate sessions typically last for around two to two-and-a-half hours, accompanied by upbeat tunes and atmospheric lighting, bathing the rink in a kaleidoscope of colour. Every half hour, staff offer opportunities to participate in a series of games, further adding to the entertainment value.

Looking for a unique venue for your next birthday celebration or social group gathering? Skate Paradise offers a fun and inclusive environment for birthday parties and social outings, making organising your next event a breeze.

Each Tuesday morning, the rink transforms into a tranquil skate haven, offering an ideal opportunity for fitness, fun and social interaction for adults and children with disability who may not feel comfortable participating in our public sessions. These specialised sessions are thoughtfully designed to cater for skaters with a variety of access needs, no matter whether you choose to skate independently, with a skate aid, or in your wheelchair.

Keep listening to learn more about our accessible and inclusive Sensory Skate Program.

    Roller Skating Sensory Program

The Roller Skating Sensory Program is not just an opportunity for exercise; it’s a chance to be part of an inclusive and welcoming community, designed exclusively for children and adults with disabilities.

With assistance from carers where needed, a welcoming atmosphere, and a tactile-friendly setting, participants in the Sensory Skate Program can revel in a sense of accomplishment and freedom of movement, making every minute on the rink a memorable one.

Whether participants choose to skate themselves, roll in their wheelchairs or utilise skater’s aids to assist with mobility and balance, you are invited to move in your own way and at your own pace. This program was born from an unwavering commitment by the Skate Paradise team to deliver accessible and inclusive experiences for all. Every detail—from the subdued lighting to the gentle, low-volume tunes is designed to create a comfortable environment - ensuring a sensory-friendly experience that’s both soothing and stimulating.

The roller-skating sensory program at Skate Paradise runs every Tuesday from 11AM until 12:30 PM. Please note that the roller-skating sensory session does not include skating lessons or skating instruction. It is simply an opportunity for all to experience skating freely in a calm, relaxed and inclusive environment.

Roll On Up – Navigating Your Way Around

Ample free parking, including several accessible parking spaces, is available directly outside Skate Paradise, with easy access to the glass entry doors of the building. The building comprises a total of two levels, with both staircase and elevator access throughout. You will enter the building at ground level, making your way to the first floor where the ticketing office and most public rink amenities can be found. The second floor provides access to stadium seating for special events, and has a pro-shop for accommodating the needs of elite pro skaters.

Once you enter through the glass doors, you will find yourself in a large foyer area. Directly ahead of you, a grand staircase leads upwards to the ticketing office and main public rink facilities located on the first floor. Alternatively, a lift located to the left of the staircase provides ease of access to the admission area and rink facilities.

Once you arrive on the first floor, you will find yourself at the ticketing office where you will need to purchase your entry ticket to skate. Once this is done, the skate hire is to your right and for those who want to purchase their skates, the skate shop is to the left. From here it’s only a short roll to the rink itself. As you roll your way towards the rink, you’ll pass the Rock and Roll diner on your right. When you’re not out gliding and sliding on the rink, you may choose to indulge in a caffeine fix or sweet treat here, or sit and take in all the action unfolding before you with ample rink-side seating provided for your comfort and enjoyment.

    The Rock and Roll Diner

The Rock and Roll diner is Skate Paradise’s on-site café where you can take a break from skating and enjoy some coffee, hot chocolate, tea, a slushy, or some cake and other tasty snacks. Located on the first floor beside the skate hire area, this groovy diner is a rendezvous point for relaxation and conversation, and provides the perfect place to recharge before, during or after your skating session.

The diner vibe will transport you right back to the 60s, with features like black and white checkered floors, disco balls and inflatable icons of the era. The walls are strewn with memorabilia, such as LPs and retro posters of diner girls, further adding to the ambience.

The Rock and Roll Diner comprises ample seating and tables. The tables are designed so that wheelchair users can wheel themselves directly up to the tables. Café menus are projected on TV screens. For guests who are unable to see the screens, you are welcome to ask the friendly staff for assistance.
