Behind-the-Tanks Brewery Tour 

Step behind the scenes and experience the magic of brewing at Straddie Brewing Co. on our Behind-the-Tanks Brewery Tour. This immersive experience takes you into the heart of our island brewery, where you’ll discover how we craft our beers using the pristine, sand-filtered water that flows from the island’s ancient aquifer. As the most plentiful ingredient in beer, water plays a crucial role in shaping the flavour and quality of our brews, and Straddie’s pure supply – fed from the Great Artesian Basin – gives our beers their signature crispness.

Before heading into the brewery, take a moment to admire the stunning artwork at our entrance. This piece pays tribute to the role of water in our brewing process, with sand-lined patterns that mirror the island’s topography and deep “Straddie Blue” hues that reflect the surrounding sea and sky. 

Once inside, you’ll be treated to a behind-the-tanks look at our brewing process, from the raw ingredients to fermentation and packaging. Our passionate team will guide you through each stage, explaining the techniques and ingredients that give our beers their bold, balanced flavours. You’ll also gain an insight into how the island’s unique environment influences our brewing philosophy, with every batch infused with the essence of Minjerribah.

The tour then continues upstairs to our taproom, where you’ll enjoy a tasting paddle featuring four of our Core Range beers. As you sip, you’ll hear the stories behind each brew – tales of island life, local inspiration and the passion that fuels our craft. Whether it’s a crisp lager, a hoppy IPA or a rich, full-bodied dark beer, each pour captures the laid-back, sun-drenched spirit of North Stradbroke Island Minjerribah.

A first for Queensland, our Brewery Beer ’n’ Bed is a truly unique take on the classic B&B experience. And for one night, you’re more than just a guest – you’re our Brewery Custodian, with the brewery and breathtaking island views right outside your room.

Your private retreat features a luxurious king-size bed, swathed in Turkish linen bedding with a selection of pillows for the perfect night’s sleep. Every detail has been thoughtfully designed to bring comfort and a touch of island charm, making it the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring North Stradbroke Island Minjerribah. Indulge in locally made Straddie beer soap, crafted from our signature brews, for a shower experience like no other. BrewAIRy Tour – A Straddie Beer Adventure Like No Other

The BrewAIRy Tour is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure for beer and aviation enthusiasts alike. In partnership with Flight One, this private scenic flight and beer-tasting experience takes you on an aerial journey over the breathtaking landscapes that have inspired Straddie Brewing Co.’s signature beers. With a Straddie beer in hand, you’ll soar over North Stradbroke Island, taking in its vast sand dunes, crystal-clear waters and iconic landmarks – all while enjoying a curated in-flight beer tasting.

Your journey begins at Archerfield Airport, where you’ll board your private aircraft and ascend to 2500 feet, taking in stunning views of Brisbane’s skyline and, on a clear day, even as far as the Gold Coast. As we track east towards North Stradbroke Island, you’ll soon grasp the sheer scale and beauty of the world’s second-largest sand island, before diving into a flight path that pairs breathtaking scenery with perfectly matched Straddie Brewing Co. beers.

Your tasting journey begins with a Jumpinpin IPA, sipped while soaring over Jumpinpin Bar, the striking turquoise channel marking the southernmost point of North Stradbroke Island Minjerribah. As we turn overhead, capturing the Gold Coast cityscape in the distance, you’ll be struck by the contrast of pristine wilderness and deep blue ocean.

Tracking north, we fly over Main Beach, a 33-kilometre stretch of untouched white sand, before reaching Point Lookout, where towering cliffs meet the Coral Sea. As you sip on a refreshing Point Lookout Lager, enjoy breathtaking views of the island’s inland lakes and bushland on one side, and the vast open ocean on the other. From May to October, keep an eye out for migrating humpback whales, gracefully breaching beneath us.

As we make our way along North Stradbroke Island Minjerribah’s northern coastline, we pass Manta Bommie, Cylinder Beach, Adder Rock and Flinders Beach before arriving at Amity Point. Here, you’ll enjoy your final in-flight pairing, the crisp and tropical Amity Pale Ale, as you take in breathtaking aerial views of manta rays, dolphins and the pristine shores that define this part of the island.

Finally, as we begin our descent into Dunwich, you’ll get an exclusive birds-eye view of Straddie Brewing Co., our three-storey architecturally designed brewery nestled in the heart of the township. Upon landing, a shuttle will be waiting to whisk you to the brewery, where you can continue your adventure with fresh Straddie beers on tap, delicious island-inspired food, and our Best of Queensland Experience hospitality.

Accessibility

Straddie Brewing Co. is located just 500 metres from the ferry terminal, making access via public transport relatively easy. For those arriving by car, we offer accessible parking spaces located near the front entrance and conveniently close to the main check-in area, which is the starting point for tours. 

At Straddie Brewing Co., we are committed to making our brewery, taproom and experiences as accessible as possible for all guests. Our venue is mostly wheelchair accessible, with a lift and providing access to the taproom on Level I and rooftop bar on Level 2. Both levels have an accessible bathroom.

At Straddie Brewing Co., we welcome qualified service dogs, ensuring that all guests can enjoy their visit comfortably. Additionally, there is a grassy area near the front of the brewery available for service dog toileting if needed.

If you are joining a brewery tour and require wheelchair access or have specific accessibility needs, we kindly ask that you let us know in advance, as this is a working brewery and the production floor may need to be cleared to ensure a smooth and safe experience.
