Relaxation Meets Adventure
Set within a natural playground, Noosa North Shore Retreat offers the perfect blend of relaxation and family-friendly adventure. Here you’re invited to explore at your own pace.
Perhaps kick off your morning with a sunrise surf with turtles, dolphins and maybe even migrating whales to keep you company. Hit the trails early for a lazy meander or invigorating hike along the Cooloola Great Walk, which starts right here at the retreat. Or start the day at a slower pace, watching the kangaroos graze as you sip your morning coffee and are serenaded by native birdsong.
During the day, explore the exciting range of onsite activities, laze in the warm sunshine and enjoy a swim in one of the pools, or gather the family for a delicious barbecue lunch. Burn off some energy and unleash your inner action hero with a game of laser tag, or embrace indoor adventure and test your strength and agility at Cooloola Cave – our indoor bouldering gym.
For those with access to a four-wheel-drive vehicle, a sixty-kilometre sand highway provides an exhilarating ride past the beachside lagoon of Double Island Point, the spectacular-coloured sands of Rainbow Beach all the way to Inskip Point, where barges depart for K’Gari (PRON: ‘Gar-ree’) or Fraser Island – the world’s largest sand island!
As the sun sinks low on the horizon, consider heading down to the onsite Noosa North Shore Restaurant and Bar for a delicious meal and a sunset drink, as you reminisce about the day’s adventures. Then return to your chosen accommodation and fall asleep surrounded by the soothing embrace of nature.

Stunning Surrounds – Natural Attraction
The 3-minute picturesque ferry ride across the river to Noosa North Shore Retreat feels like you’re being transported to another world. Unhurried and unassuming, the tranquil Noosa North Shore abounds in natural beauty, and seems to breathe in time with the rhythmic heartbeat of the ocean – slow, steady and reassuring.
Bury your feet in the powder soft sands lining the shore, and bask in the warmth of the sunshine soothing your senses. Leave a meandering trail of footprints on uncrowded beaches. Take a refreshing swim or surf in the ocean, and feel the caress of the salty sea breeze on your face. Some say a day at the beach here is like natural therapy for the soul – a calming balm of relaxation and rejuvenation.
Take a peaceful paddle in the shallow waters of nearby Lake Cooroibah, or enjoy a family picnic on the sun-soaked banks.
Noosa North Shore Retreat borders the beauty of the Great Sandy National Park, where sand highways pave the road to adventure, and meandering hiking trails lead past pockets of remnant rainforest, fields of blooming wildflowers, the river’s quiet reflection and towering sand hills.
Amidst it all, you’ll experience unforgettable encounters with iconic Aussie wildlife. Our native inhabitants regularly include bouncy kangaroos, cheeky goannas, brightly coloured native birdlife and a host of magnificent marine animals, such as graceful turtles and playful dolphins. In the winter months, migrating whales can often be seen swimming by, on their annual winter migration.
